Powermatic 15" Planer

Typical Workflow

  1. Check for full chip/dust bin in both the collection vacume and drawer. Remove chips if not empty.
  2. TBA
  3. Finish by cleaning up chip / dust bin after at least 5 min of settling time. The dust is very light and stays in the air.

Troubleshooting

Always SAFETY LOCKOUT the device before any troubleshooting. This means, physically disconnecting the power from the unit, unplug and do not allow anyone near the outlet.

Feed is inconsistent

The feed rollers may be gunked up with sap which causes the rollers slip. Use a wirebrush on the feed rollers with a squirt of isopropanol or tool cleaner spray.

Feed rate and cut depth per pass may be too fast or deep.

Adjustment Notes

Don't adjust any of these settings. This is for reference for the shop stewards only.
