What I Make
Woodshop
I also sneeze when someone is cutting pine or oak.
Laser Machine
It's just like machining metal, speeds and feeds, and sometimes your part starts smoking.
Electronics Workbench
Amateur Radio anyone?
Machine Shop
I've been an amateur machinist since 2001. I got my first taste of Tap Magic at USF SAE. Ask me about the lathe I bought. I also TIG and MIG weld all types of metals, steel, aluminum and recently cast iron.
Composites and Mold Making
I've spent a lot of time coated in epoxy and vinylester resins. Someone let me use a chop gun and it was too much fun. Typically, I use epoxy and s-glass to build repairs for boats and such. The first time I build a carbon epoxy foam sandwich I knew something magic was happening. Watch this and get a jump start on anything epoxy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5nNadZKI6s
Recent and Ongoing Projects
Tap Handles (On going)
I build custom Tap Handles (Faucet handles) for beer and other beverages. Typically out of wood, either blanks cut on the Shopbot that will have UV DTF Stickers applied or laser etched wood with various fills. I finish them with a glue in or screw in threaded section for common beer faucet threads.
Amatuer Radio Antenna Build Night (2026)
I hosted a DIY antenna build party with the Chaos Koalas group in 2026. We built simple Ground Plane UHF antennas using steel wire and SO-239 adapters. Then we tuned them using a NanoVNA.
Adding Pages to the Wiki (On going)
User:Donw and User:Moss would call it an obsession of mine, and they are probably right.
